Beach Safety
Conserve the sand dunes and sea oats by not parking or driving on the beaches. Open fires are not permitted on the beach. Alcohol is prohibited in public areas.

Driving Information
Watch your speed. Make sure you observe the posted speed limits when driving. Remember to buckle up - seatbelts are the law. In addition, children up to age four or forty pounds must be in a separate child restraint carrier (child car seat). A right turn at a red light is allowed unless otherwise posted. Headlights must be on from sunset to sunrise, or when visibility is reduced due to rain or fog. Use extreme caution when driving in the rain or on recently wet pavement.

Sun Sense
Preparing correctly for a day on the beach will ensure your fabulous Florida tan is the envy of all your friends back home. Follow these tips to ensure a pleasant time in the sun: Use sunscreen with a higher SPF than you normally do and apply it frequently. Fair-skinned people should always use a higher SPF sunblock. Use sunscreen every day even when you're just walking or playing (even if it's cloudy). Sand, asphalt and cement all reflect and intensify the sun's rays. For maximum protection, choose a waterproof sunscreen that retains its SPF level after 80 minutes in the water. Because children are more susceptible to sun damage than adults, they need a waterproof sunscreen with a high SPF-

Water Safety
Note color-coded flags for swimming conditions at the beach (blue = safe, yellow = marginal, red = dangerous and prohibited). Jet ski operators must be at least 14 years old, always wear a flotation device and ride with caution.
